    (online)
    Organiser: Others

    14:30-16:00 CEST

This session is part of the European Week of Regions and Cities.

The workshop is organised by the Municipality of Rubí (Spain) and the Association of European Border Regions and will be presented by the international artist and activist Ruslana.

The session is closely related with the objectives of the Green Deal, Climate Action Plan of the European Union and the Covenant of Mayors initiative, all aimed at achieving clean energy and energy efficiency.

The panel will be moderated by the General Secretary of the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR), Mr. Martin Guillermo. AEBR has experience in supporting regional strategies for climate action and environmental sustainability in municipalities in border regions. Four local and regional best practices will be discussed:

    • Experience of Rubí (Spain), presented by the mayor of Rubí, Ana María Martínez.
    • Experience of Köln (Germany); presented by the responsible for Alternative Drivetrains and project manager for the zero-emission project, Jens Conrad.
    • Experience of Odessa (Ukraine); presented by the vice-chairman of the Odessa Regional Council, Yuriy Dimchoglo.
    • Experience of Lappeenranta (Finland), presented by the development manager of the City of Lappeenranta, Markku Mäkki-Hokkonen.
    • Finally, volunteers from the Interreg Volunteer Young (IVY) project will voice the expectations of young people.
